Kicker Brandon Aubrey of the Dallas Cowboys Misses Practice for a Patriotic Duty

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey was called into civic duty this week and was forced to miss practice on Wednesday because of it.

Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey isn't worried about jinxes as he nears perfection

Aubrey was listed by the Cowboys as a non-participant in practice because he was summoned for jury duty in Tarrant County, Texas to serve on a 12-person jury for a felony assault case, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The case Aubrey is on the dozen-member jury for surrounds a second-degree strangulation charge against the defendant. Dallas also reportedly tried to pull Aubrey from his court summons and was denied.

The kickers’ status for the rest of the week’s practices is up in the air with him expected back in court the next two days. The case’s judge also stated he will work with Aubrey on his football schedule.

However, Aubrey is in line to play on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Aubrey has solidified himself over the last year as one of the best kickers in football

In line with the case, Aubrey is free on nights and weekends, which will allow him to travel to California with his team.

Information on jurors in court cases are typically not made public, with Aubrey’s professional status making him recognizable in Dallas.

There is no timetable for how long the jury portion of the case will last. That could mean Aubrey will be back at Tarrant County Court after returning from San Francisco.

Over the last year, Aubrey has solidified himself as one of the best kickers in the NFL.

That’s an astonishing assertion considering Aubrey is a soccer player by trade and only made his football debut in 2022.

Aubrey only joined the Cowboys last season and has dazzled ever since.
