Stephon Gilmore’s Wife Criticizes ‘Poor Quality Content’ About Patriots Star

One NFL wife isn’t pleased with the Pro Bowl “narrative” about her husband.

Gabrielle Gilmore, wife of Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore, didn’t take kindly to a tweet by Boston Globe NFL writer Ben Volin which said the “wrong Patriots CB got selected to the Pro Bowl” following Gilmore’s third-consecutive nomination, arguing it should have been J.C. Jackson instead.

“Y’all still pushing this trash narrative?” Gabrielle wrote in a quote-tweet of Volin on Sunday morning. “Lol might have to do a series of debunks.”

Despite an off year after Tom Brady’s departure, the Patriots’ pass defense ranks fifth in yards allowed per game due in large part to both Gilmore and Jackson. The 30-year-old Gilmore made 37 tackles (30 solo), one interception and one forced fumble through 11 games in 2020. Jackson, 25, has had the superior season on paper, however, and has made 31 tackles (25 solo), eight interceptions and recovered three fumbles.

Volin wrote that “Gilmore’s season was better than his stats,” but believes that cornerback Jackson should have been the one nominated to the Pro Bowl.

Gabrielle later wrote that she “thinks you should be comparing the 2 corners seasons against other corners in the division not among the team. They were both arguably better than the others within the AFC.
